I have been a resident of Kempton Park since 1973 and
graduated from the University of Potchefstroom in 1993. I love to
educate and to improve people’s lifestyle. My work is
my passion and I love it to bits. In my spare time (which I have a
lot of …) I spend time with my two boys Divan (11 years) and Armand
(9 years) and I do road cycling to stay fit and burn some un-wanted
kilojoules....(I am planning to complete my first Cape Argus race in
2012).
Being in the medical profession requires one to stay up
to date with technology and because I have a special interest in surgery,
I am always reading and researching in an effort to expand my
knowledge.
The management of the practice is my
responsibility and I spend more time in the practice than in
hospital.

I am the newest member to the team, originally
from the Cape, where I studied at Stellenbosch. From there I went
to London, UK, working as a dietician in nutrition support for
patients with neurological conditions e.g. strokes and degenerative
diseases e.g. Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neuron Disease. Returning
to Cape Town, I worked as food service manager and clinical
dietician at Ramot Rehabilitation Centre for Alcohol and Drugs. The
complexity of addiction and the effect of substance abuse on the
body inspired me to start my Masters degree at Stellenbosch.
Currently I am enjoying private practice because I have best of both
worlds: Clinical dietician in a hospital in the ICU and on ward
level with more acutely ill patients as well as consulting dietician
at our rooms where we act as motivators and facilitators for our
clients to adhere to lifestyle and diet modifications. Practicing
what we preach is very important and I keep fit by trial- and road
running on weekends. My motto in life is: If nothing changes,
nothing changes
